Drenova dam testing

The multi-purpose reservoir "Drenova" near the town of Prnjavor, in the Republic of Srpska, was built in 1978. The IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Water Engineering from Bijeljina, as a contractor of the works, carried out detailed geophysical, geotechnical and hydrogeological explorations for the needs of the Public Institution "Vode Srpske" from Bijeljina, as the client during September and October 2022, the ultimate goal of which is to define of the current state of the dam on the Drenova reservoir. Geophysical research was carried out using electrometric and seismic methods. After the completion of the geophysical tests, 5 exploratory boreholes were drilled through the stone embankment of the dam, that is, until entering the solid rock mass. After the completion of drilling, inclinometer tubes were installed and the initial (zero) state of inclination was measured on all wells.

Water well Bijelo more Sisecam Lukavac

Ltd "IPIN" Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina carried out a project of detailed hydrogeological research of the groundwater near the landfill "Bijelo more" in Lukavac for technical needs of the company "Sisecam soda so Lukavac" Ltd in order to provide additional quantities of groundwater for the needs of that company. Research was successfully carried out in October 2022, which included drilling an exploratory well in the exploratory area next to the "Bijelo More" landfill, and then an exploitation well, and instaled pipes and well screens, washed and tested by test pumping.

Artesian boreholes

IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Water Engineering from Bijeljina performed 3 new piezometers at 3 locations for the Sava River Water Area Agency from of Sarajevo as the client in 2022, for the purposes of forming a groundwater monitoring network in the water bodies of the Sava River in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beside 17 existing piezometers, the following piezometers were built: - Piezometer GSP-AP1 in Stjepan Polje near Gračanica, - Piezometer LH-AP2 in Hrvaćani near Lukavac, - Piezometer OR-AP3 in Orašje. In addition to drilling, there are performed installation and cementation of a 178.8 mm diameter steel casing pipe was also carried out, in order to isolate shallower aquifers and prevent the mixing of groundwater of different layers, as well as to prevent the influence of surface pollution. The laboratory analysis determined the quality of underground water of captured aquifers. The continuation of the establishment of the underground water monitoring network in the territory of the Federation of BiH is aimed at the formation of the underground water monitoring network in aquifers of intergranular porosity under pressure.

Mramor BGD11

The IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina conducted detailed hydrogeological research in the area of Dobrnja, for the City of Srebrenik, as the contractor, during 2022. Investigative works were carried out on the BGD-11 well, which captured Neogene sands at the underlie of the main coal seam in the mentioned area, and which was once used for coal mine drainage. As the well has not been in operation since 2005, it was necessary to examine the condition of the well. In addition, investigative works were carried out, which included its revitalization, and the determination of the quantity and quality of underground water. By processing the testing results (from 2002, short-term and long-term testing before 2022), the mean values of the hydrogeological parameters of the aquifer were obtained, and the optimal capacity of the well was determined by calculating the optimal capacity based on several parameters (allowed drowdown, critical inlet velocities), and an elaboration on the calculation, classification and categorization of groundwater reserves in this area was made.

Performing of HGR and water well Hadzici

The IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina carried out geophysical tests, detailed hydrogeological investigations and performed two water wells (well HIB-1 - drilling depth of 141.5 m and HIB-2 depth 170.0 m) at the location of Donji Zovik near Hadžić, with the aim of securing additional quantities of underground water for water supply to consumers of the Hadžići water supply system. The water wells capture water from the fractured and cavernous limestone and dolomite aquifers, and the installation of the wells was successfully completed with stainless steel tubular construction and Johnson-type wire filters, with a diameter of DN 160 mm.

Water well Dragalovci for TPP Stanari

The exploitation of coal is planned from the area of the future Kop 3 PK "Raškovac" for the purposes of uninterrupted operation of TE "Stanari". There is a water well B-3/14 in the area of Kop 3, which is used for backup water supply by technical water for the thermal power plant, and which will be destroyed by the progress of the mine. For this reason, the IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina, for the client EFT mine and the TPP Stanari, carried out a detailed hydrogeological research project with the aim of creating a replacement well for the reserve water supply sistem of the "Stanari" TE and were performed detailed hydrogeological research. Hydrogeology research was carried out in the period from April to June 2021, which included the execution of 2 exploratory boreholes at potential locations in the Živkovac stream and west of the "Stanari" thermal power plant, the ultimate goal of which is the construction of a replacement well that will provide a sufficient amount of water for work TE "Stanari". When drilling and obtaining results, it was decided to drill and instal pipes and screen and turn them into piezometers. The piezometers were washed and diveloped , after they were installed, and the PS-2/21 piezometer west of the TE, was tested. Based on the results of the testing and processing of the obtained data, it was decided to drill and instal pipes and screen in to water well at the location west of the TPP, which was successfully done with subsequent flushing, development and testing of the same. INOX construction and Johnson filters are installed in the well.

Elaborate on regime and balance Gacko

When designing mining and hydrotechnical facilities, it is important to forecast possible maximum daily or hourly water inflows, in the event of heavy rains or sudden melting of snow. In order to undertake effective and economical measures of hydrotechnical protection, to eliminate the negative effects of high water content of the deposit on technology and exploitation technique, at the end of 2022, the IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina prepared an Elaborate on the Analysis of the Regime and Balance of Underground Waters of PK "Gacko ". The calculated value of the relative water carrying capacity of the deposit of 8.33 m3/t is higher than what was given during the design of PK Gacko.

Performing of piezometers Stanari 2020

As part of the I phase of research IPIN Institute of Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljina carried out exploratory works in the form of 8 exploratory wells in the area of the future Kop 3, PK Raškovac, EFT in Stanari, for the purposes of lowering the groundwater level in the opening phase, forming water reservoirs and pre-drainage of the mine, during May and June 2020. When drilling and obtaining results, it was decided to install pipes in the 7 exploratory boreholes and convert them into piezometers. In the first phase, three piezometers were installed at the location of the Jezero drenage reservoir (PS-4; PS-5 and PS-6), a piezometer at the location of the potential dranage reservoir of the first phase of the open pit (PS-3) and three more piezometers, one to the north (PS-10), one northeast (PS-9) and one southeast (PS-8) from the first phase of the open pit. By processing the test results, the values of the hydrogeological parameters of the aquifer and the values of the specific and prognostic optimal capacity for each location were obtained. The geological service of the contractor continued the quantitative monitoring of groundwater on the constructed facilities in the area of Kop 3, but also on other available facilities in the area of PK "Raškovac".

Mine drainage of Pit 3 of EFT mine in Sanari

The IPIN Institute for Applied Geology and Hydroengineering from Bijeljine is carried out the "Project of detailed hydrogeological investigations of the Stanar coal basin, the Eastern part of the PK "Raškovac" - Pit 3 with the aim of determining the possibility of pre-drainage of Pit 3", for the needs of the EFT Mine and TPP Stanari, in which the methodology of detailed hydrogeological research divided into two phases. As part of the I phase of detailed hydrogeological research, it is planned to carry out 11 exploratory wells with their drilling, development and testing. The maximum level of underground water in the area of the first phase of the opening of Kopa 3, as well as the direction of movement of underground water, was defined. The forecast value of the radius of influence of future wells on Kopa 3 was also determined. The concept of realization of pre-drainage implies pre-drainage using 3 to a maximum of 6 wells in the lake area with simultaneous pumping of the lake, then excavation and pumping of the drenage reservoir "Jezero" in the underlie gravels. 12 calendar months are necessary for the realization of all works.

Project of geothermal research for heat plant "Toplane-Sarajevo"

In order to improve the heating of urban settlements on Ilidža, DOO "IPIN" Institute for Applied Geology and Hydrotechnics from the City of Bijeljina, in accordance with the signed contract with KJKP "Toplane-Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo, was developed by the Project of hydrogeological research of thermal waters in the area of Ilidža for the needs of district heating KJKP "Toplane-Sarajevo" d.o.o. Sarajevo in 2020. The goal of the project of detailed hydrogeological research is the capture of thermal waters in order to use geothermal energy that would be used in the district heating system on Ilidža and is a pilot project of heating urban settlements from geothermal energy sources in Sarajevo Canton, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based on the analysis of the geological structure and tectonic structure of the terrain, a geothermal model of the research area was created, showing tectonic relationships, faults and selected prospective parts of the terrain for future hydrogeological research, with the aim of capturing thermal water and using geothermal energy. After consultation with the competent Federal Ministry, the client decided that each location, which is defined by the project as prospective (part of one of the tectonic blocks according to the geothermal model), should be a separate research area, that is, that: - tectonic block 14 and 14a should be one research area; - tectonic block 16 one research area; - tectonic block 8 one research area; - tectonic block 1 should have 3 investigation areas (1- Lužani anomaly, 2- south of Banja and 3- right side of Željeznica river). The total value of the planned works is about 22.6 million convertible marks, and the necessary period for the realization of the works is 3 years.

Bušenje bunara u Sprečkom polju za potrebe vodovoda Tuzla

U okviru projekta “Vodosnabdijevanje i kanalizacija u Bosni i Hercegovini II”, komponenta Tuzla, IPIN Institut za primijenjenu geologiju i vodoinženjering iz Bijeljine je za JKP “Vodovod i kanalizacija” Tuzla, u Sprečkom polju izveo 4 bunara za vodosnabdijevanje Tuzle. Radovi su izvedeni od jula do septembra 2019.g. U bušene bunare dubine do 95 m su ugradjene najkvalitetnije INOX cijevne i Johnson filterske konstrukcije od nerdjajućeg čelika, prečnika 406 mm. Vodosnabdijevanje opštine Stanari

Za potrebe obezbjeđenja dodatnih količina vode za vodosnabdijevanje opštine Stanari, IPIN Institut iz Bijeljine je tokom 2017. i 2018.g. izveo geofizička ispitivanja terena, izradu istražnih pijezometarskih bušotina, izvođenje bunara, te laboratorijske analize fizičko-hemijskog sastava vode. Lokacija novih bunara prečnika bušenja Ø 820/620 mm se nalazi južno od putnog pojasa od Rudanke prema Stanarima, dok se druga lokacija nalazi sa sjeverne strane glavnog puta. U bunare je ugrađena INOX cijevna konstrukcija prečnika ø 273 mm, sa Johnsonovim filterima, a nakon završetka izrade projektne dokumentacije, Opština Stanari će pristupiti izgradnji novih rezervoara, crpnih stanica i distributivnih cjevovoda. Bušenje istražno-eksploatacionog bunara IEBN-1

U okviru terenskih istražnih radova za potrebe preduzeća “Nešković” u Popovima kod Bijeljine, IPIN Institut iz Bijeljine izveo je bušenje istražno-eksploatacionog bunara IEBN-1 do dubine 73,0 m. Bunar IEBN-1 izveden je SIMMETRIX sistemom bušenja, a kao ispirni fluid korišćen je komprimovani vazduh. Ugrađena je INOX cijevna bunarska konstrukcija sa Johnson filterima. Rezultati izvedenih detaljnih hidrogeoloških istraživanja predstavljeni su u Elaboratu o izvedenim detaljnim hidrogeološkim istraživanjima, a dobijeni podaci iskorišćeni su za potrebu izrade Elaborata o proračunu, klasifikaciji i kategorizaciji i kvalitetu podzemne vode koja će se koristiti za flaširanje.

Measurement of the suspended and sampling of the drawn riverbed on the river Bosna

Within the activities of the "Agencija za vodno područje rijeke Save" Sarajevo in the period December 2017 - December 2018, "IPIN" - Institute for applied geology and water engineering from Bijeljina is for the contractor " Zavod za vodoprivredu" d.d. Sarajevo carried out field work in the framework of the Study of transport of the river sediment for the lower flow of the river Bosna. The following works were carried out:

  • measurement of the concentration of suspended application on the measurement profiles of water meters VS Maglaj Grad and VS Šamac,
  • sampling of drawn sediment on the profiles of VS Maglaj Grad and VS Šamac and
  • determination of the granulometric composition of drawn sediment at the characteristic locations.
On the basis of all the previous and obtained results of field measurements, a Study of the transport of river sediment for the lower flow of the river Bosna was conducted, which should consider the locations and measuring equipment for stations for measuring the application of the river Bosna for the long-term projects of the Sava commission regarding the implementation of the Guidelines and the Protocol for sustainable management of sediment on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Geological investigation for "RITE Gacko"

In December 2018, Ipin Institute from Bijeljina carried out drilling of exploratory, geomechanical wells and piezometers for the needs of "RITE Gacko" for the purpose of supplement geological and hydrogeological investigations of the western and southern edges of the central field of the Gacko surface mine. In addition, IPIN Institute from Bijeljina completed and on December 23, 2018, in the premises of "RITE Gacko" presented the study on the analysis of the regime and balance of groundwater PK Gacko.

Domaljevac 2018.

IPIN Ltd institute for applied geology and waterengineering is at the beginning of October 2018. for the purpose of improving the water supply of a part of the municipality Domaljevac-Šamac, successfully performed a water well of 201 m depth. The works were financed by UNDP BiH, and all works were completed within the stipulated deadline and in accordance with the contract and the needs of the users.

Revitaliztion of water well - Srebrenik

U Valjevu je u oktobru 2018.g. održan 39. Međunarodni stručno-naučni skup “Vodovod i kanalizacija” na kojem je prezentovan i rad pod naslovom “Rezultati izvedene fizičko-hemijske revitalizacije bunara B-7 na izvorištu vodovoda Opštine Srebrenik” autora Vaso Novaković, Nikola Nikolić, Sanel Buljubašić, Aleksandar Tomić, Ranko Grujić. Tokom višegodišnjeg rada kapacitet bunara se smanji, u većini slučaja na jednu trećinu početnog kapaciteta, a povećaju se hidraulički otpori na otvorima filtera i u pribunarskoj zoni zbog njenog kolmiranja sitnozrnim česticama i inkrustacije mineralnih soli. Zbog toga je u okviru održavanja bunara, svakih 2 do maksimalno 5 godina neophodno izvršiti fizičko-hemijsku revitalizaciju bunara, koju izvode specijalizovana preduzeća koja se bave i izvođenjem bunara. U radu su prezentovane i obrađene primijenjene metode revitalizacije bunara i rezultati testiranja bunara B-7 na izvorištu Vlahulje vodovoda Srebrenik u Bosni i Hercegovini, prije i poslije revitalizacije koju je izvelo preduzeće DOO “IPIN” iz Bijeljine. Rezultati do kojih se došlo prilikom izvođenja snimanja i testiranja bunara B-7 vodovoda Srebrenik, prije i nakon sprovedene fizičko-hemijske revitalizacije, ukazuju da su postignuti odlični rezultati, koji se ogledaju u smanjenju bunarskih otpora čak oko 8 puta i povećanju specifičnog kapaciteta za oko 2,8 puta, a i povećanju optimalnog kapaciteta bunara B-7 sa 8 na 22,2 l/s ili skoro za tri puta, što je čak nešto veći kapacitet nego kada je bunar bio nov. Drilling of water well for water supply of Mionica near Gradačac

For the water supply of Mionica near Gradacac in December 2017 IPIN Institute from Bijeljina carried out detailed geophysical and hydrogeological research and drilling of water well GM-3. The contracting authority is the Municipality of Gradačac. For the purpose of determining the location of drilling in the field, geophysical seismic tests were first performed. The exploratoty drillhole IB-3 was carried out to a depth of 94.0 m and the exploitation water well GM-3 was carried out with a drill diameter ø 600/444 mm to a depth of 96 m. The Johnson INOX filter was installed in the water well, and after the installation of the well construction, water well was rinsed, developed and tested with an optimal capacity of 27 l / s, which can be used for water supply of Mionica near Gradacac. The results of the complete physical-chemical analysis and radiological examination show that all the tested parameters of the physical-chemical composition of the water are within the limits of the allowed values for drinking water. The water well GM-3 is particularly important for the water supply of Mionica, because in the existing water supply system there has been over-pumping of water well GM-2 due to the lack of water in the system, and because of damage to the construction, the existing water well GM-1 can not be used in the future for water supply.

3D model of coal deposit in coal mine Miljevina

In July 2017 for the needs of the coal mine Miljevina IPIN Institute from Bijeljina has done a "The project of detailed geological exploration with the aim of defining reserves of dark coal in the Debelo Brdo-Danicici mining area, coal basin Miljevina". For the needs of the project, the 3D model of the deposit was formed, which enabled the obtaining of forecasting depths of the deposit, forecast reserves and projected depths of the drillholes.

37th International expert-scientific conference " Vodovod i Kanalizacija 16”

In mid-October, the 37th International Expert-scientific Conference "Water and Sewage 16" was organized by the Union of Engineers and Technicians of Serbia. At this conference, two papers were published by author N. Nikolic (IPIN Institute Bijeljina) and associates: - 3D mathematical model of water source "Domažić" Gradačac Municipality, BiH, and - Model of transport of pollutants in the zone of water source "Domažić", Gradačac Municipality, BiH The following software was used in making the papers: MODFLOW and MT3DMS for hydrodynamic simulation and transport of pollutants.

Drilling and testing of wells for water supply of the Municipality of Usora

Drilling of exploratory well PB-9 was carried out for the purposes of water supply of the Municipality of Usora in September 2016. Moreover, drilling, casing and testing of replacement well BU-1A was also performed. The drilling depth was 57.00 m and final diameter was 620 mm at the source Duboki Potok. Casing of wells was performed with stainless steel pipes and filters of Johnson type, made of stainless steel. The previously performed well at this location had a problem with an increased turbidity of water and the pump used to shut down constantly due to the small capacity of the well. In the following activities, it is necessary to make detailed hydrogeological investigations of Usora Municipality in accordance with the project which has already been done, so that the future activities could create new water sources with significant capacity and good water quality.

Drilling and testing of wells for water supply of Sloboprom Company, Lončari

IPIN Institute performed the drilling, casing and testing of water well BS-1 (drilling depth 109 m) for the purposes of Sloboprom Company in Loncari in August 2016. During this procedure, the well casing construction, to the depth of 102 m, was also performed. Two aquifers of sandy gravel type and one aquifer of clayey sands type were noticed, so IPIN Institute performed casing using Johnson filters and well pipes made of inox. The optimal exploitation capacity of the well in the amount of 8.08 l/s was obtained for the projected period of operation of well, which is 25 years, at the decrease of 1/3 of H.

Drilling and testing of wells for water supply of settlement Brijesnica Mala

IPIN Institute from Bijeljina performed drilling, casing and testing of water well EB-3 in July 2016 (drilling depth of 100m) for the purposes of improving the water supply of settlement Brijesnica Mala, Doboj East Municipality. For the projected period of operation of well, which is 25 years, the capacity of well EB-3 in individual operation is 6.57 l / s. The result of extended physical-chemical analysis showed that certain physical-chemical parameters of water from water well EB-3 are below the maximum permissible values for drinking water, and thus, they satisfy the provisions of Regulations on Natural Mineral and Natural Spring Waters (Official Gazette of BIH No. 26 / 10 and 32/12).

Drilling and testing of wells for water supply of Drnić Municipality near Bosanski Petrovac

IPIN Institute from Bijeljina performed the drilling of exploratory-exploitation well OB-3 for water supply of Drinić Municipality near Bosanski Petrovac. The result of physical-chemical analysis of groundwater taken from water well OB-3 was carried out by the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka and it showed that physical and physical-chemical parameters of water from well OB-3 are within the limit of the Regulations on Sanitary Safety for Drinking Water (Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska No. 75/2015). The inclusion of water well OB-3 to the water supply system would significantly increase the available water resources for legal entities and the population connected to the water supply of Drinić Municipality.

Dana 11.03.2016.g. Mr Ranko Grujić, zaposlen u IPIN Institutu je na Tehnološkom fakultetu Zvornik, Univerziteta u Istočnom Sarajevu, uspješno odbranio doktorsku disertaciju pod nazivom "Analiza transporta zagađujućih materija

U okviru programa aktivnosti na eksternom stručnom usavršavanju zaposlenih IPIN Instituta za primijenjenu geologiju i vodinženjering su i doktorske studije i odbrane doktorskih disertacija na univerzitetima. Dana 11.03.2016.g. Mr Ranko Grujić, zaposlen u IPIN Institutu je na Tehnološkom fakultetu Zvornik, Univerziteta u Istočnom Sarajevu, uspješno odbranio doktorsku disertaciju pod nazivom "Analiza transporta zagađujućih materija u podzemnim vodama akumuliranim u aluvijalnim sedimentima Dunava". Korišćenjem savremenih softverskih alata za modeliranje transporta zagađujućih materija, utvrđena je povezanost i dobijeno prognozno vrijeme transporta zagađujućih materija od izvora zagađenja do pijezometara i bunara izvorišta Štrand i date su preporuke u cilju eliminisanja štetnih efekata na rad izvorišta, što je primjenjivo i na druga izvorišta ovog tipa.

THE DRILLING OF THE WELL FOR WATER SUPPLY OF THEMUNCIPALITY OF GRADAČAC, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA WAS PERFORMED BY IPIN INSTITUTE FROM BIJELJINA

On 19.02. 2016 IPIN Institute has completed the drilling of wells for water supply to settlements of the municipality of Gradačac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Large diameter well (800/444 mm), depth of 90 m in solid limestone rocks, for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina implemented by rotational method with combined ejection of drilled material by clean water and compressed air, which allows a large capacity wells and a large amount of water as opposed to the standard method of drilling because of development during the drilling process. Test pumping with capacity of 61 l / s (5270 m3 / day) is in progress.
